No Draft, No More

Charles Rangle's plan for re-instituting the draft is apparently dead...killed by his own party's leadership.
No draft says Pelosi
I think that the Democrats' long-term goals were hurt by the move. A draft would have a natural limiting effect on the idea of going to war for anything less than the most important reasons. Isn't that what Nancy Pelosi would want?
Besides... it would be wild to see what happened the day after any new draft law passed. I wonder what the reaction would be? Massive youth flight to Canada? Protests in the streets? Business as usual?
Methinks that's why there will be no draft. Everyone would say "no"to foreign endeavors really fast. And everyone sort of knows it.
