The continual process of learning
Apr 02 2010 7:29pmThe Jesse Ventura interview went great, didn't it? Haha. Well, obviously I am kidding. I don't know why my antennae didn't do a better job of making me see that this was a bad idea, especially after the interview was completed. It just isn't what we want to be doing on the podcast, and I wish now that we had scrapped it.
Well, we will try to learn and improve from the experience. As I said on one of our discussion threads, guests on our shows have really been a disappointment. With the exception of James Burke, MOST of our guests have been negatively received. We sure can pick 'em, huh? I always think I am giving you all a break from the monotony of my voice, and many of you seem to dislike it when I do (you are all a bunch of masochists obviously).
So, maybe we will stop for a while. Guests are difficult to set up anyway and they are always a crap shoot in terms of whether they will be interesting (or in the case of our most recent guest, credible). In addition, having people think I am endorsing whatever our guests are pushing makes it even harder to pick people to come on the show (they need to have a point of view that I endorse??? That's going to be, as one of your number said, a SMALL pool of prospective interviewees!).
So, for a while it's going to be just going to be me on the show. And if and when that gets on your nerves, just remember, you asked for it!
