You people Rock!

Oct 02 2007 3:44pm

Ben and I just got back from the New Media Expo that was held down in Los Angeles. It has caused us to get a bit behind. So, here's an update or two:
The latest history show is about a week away I figure. I know people are getting antsy about it, I hope we don't disappoint!
We should get a Common Sense show out this week too...keep your fingers crossed...
Also, it is voting time on Podcast Alley. If you haven't already, we would be grateful if you could just follow the links to the left of this blog and, if you think we deserve it, cast a vote for the show(s).
Finally, after hobnobbing with a bunch of other podcasters at the Expo, and finding out about their level of audience support and involvement, I can honestly say that we have the best audience of anyone we met. Nobody we spoke to had the level of audience participation or support that we did. All Ben and I can say is THANK YOU! You people ROCK.

YOU are the problem

Sep 14 2007 9:14am

The World Health Organization has again made it clear that the biggest impediment to saving lives (and precious health care dollars) in the world is YOU. link
Because you choose to live your life the way you see fit and selfishly enjoy the unhealthy and dangerous pursuits that make you "happy" we need a "whole society approach" (according to the article) to dissuade you from your dangerous and expensive "pursuit of happiness".
Folks...I know many of you agree with such ideas. But, ask yourself, should your waistline be the government's concern? And if it is...what isn't?

The Usual Begging

Sep 02 2007 8:56am

It's a new month, and we would like to encourage you to vote (if you haven't already) for us on Podcast Alley and/or post a review on iTunes about the shows. It still seems like begging to ask you all to do this...yet the difference since all of you have been helping us promote the shows like this is very noticeable. (You can vote by simply following the links to the left of this blog).
So, I guess the lesson is: if the begging is getting us closer to paying the mortgage...make sure you become as good at your craft as possible. And I am getting better at this begging routine all the time...
Thanks for enslaving me in dependence everyone!

Gonzales out...Chertoff In?

Aug 27 2007 10:04am

In the last blog entry (sorry for the delay in updating...by the way...) we told you that Karl Rove's departure was not as big of a deal as those popping champaign after hearing the news were assuming it would be. Well, the same holds true for Alberto Gonzales' departure.
Already the names to replace him are being thrown out and the name topping most lists is Michael Chertoff, the current head of the U.S. Homeland Security department. Now, am I the only one who thinks there is something strange and mildly Orwellian about the head of "Homeland Security" becoming the top Law Enforcement official in the country? Who knows? Gonzales may have been the lesser of two evils when all is said and done...

Dems cheer, Rove sips margaritas in Cancun

Aug 13 2007 3:50pm

So, Karl Rove is leaving the Bush Administration.
I am not sure why everyone seems to be making such a big deal about this. Listening to Air America radio today you would have thought that this was a major win for the Democrats in America. But what will change?
Isn't that fundamentally what matters? The Dems cheered when Donald Rumsfeld left (as a lot of us did) because it was assumed this would mean some sort of shift in outlook and policy. But things haven't changed much since Rummy left, and Rove's departure will have just as slight an impact on day-to-day operations in the Bush White House.
This just means he gets to leave work early. After all, Rove's job was to win politically and electorally for Bush. There's too little time left in this Administration (and frankly, too little left to politically wager and play with) for Rove to be of any use anymore. He just gets to leave work early.
The Dems see this as a victory. I bet Rove is laughing about that right now.
