Shameless Self-Promotion

A listener emailed us about some podcast awards that are going to be handed out in the near future. He suggested it might be a good way to publicize the show(s).
We checked it out and sure enough, it DOES look like a good way to get more listeners and raise the profile of the podcasts.
So, if you think either of the shows deserve it, you can nominate "Dan Carlin's Hardcore History or "Common Sense with Dan Carlin" at Nominate the nominations are open until July 15th I believe.

As usual at the first of the month Podcast Alley has deleted all the votes from June and "wiped the slate clean" so to speak.
So, if you haven't voted for us in the last 30 days (and Podcast Alley will tell you if you have by not letting you vote yet...) we would really appreciate your help. The quick links to vote on our site are directly to the left of this blog entry.
Also, in keeping with trying to establish our 'Common Sense" credibility in the age of Common Sense Charlatanism, we will be posting some other clips from our broadcasts from the past, some more than a decade ago, where I sound pretty much just the way I do on the podcast today. I realize that is not something to be proud of in the eyes of some of you...

They're Heeerrrre.....

We have been predicting the arrival of the "Common Sense Charlatans" for a long time (Show #19) . Well, they have arrived.
Everywhere I look there they are. Turn on the radio, I hear them. Listen to the political debate and there they are. Talk show hosts who made a living six months ago bashing the other political side and embracing rampant partisanism are now often talking about competency, the failings of both parties in Washington and the need for...common sense.
Believe it or not, we have actually been accused of being late-jumpers on the common sense bandwagon by people who think we are following the lead of some national radio host or another.
Well, we have the evidence to show that whatever weird viewpoint it is that I spout to all of you...it is my own.
We just posted one of my old radio broadcasts in the jukebox below. It can't be downloaded...but you can listen to it It's from 10 years ago.
We will post a few of these old broadcasts from time to time. They demonstrate pretty well that I was from Mars before coming from Mars was in vogue.







Stumping for Votes

We seem to be lagging a bit on Podcast Alley lately (especially Hardcore History).
Thanks to all of you, Ben and I have become spoiled a bit over what your votes have done for us in the Podcast Alley rankings. Well...what can I say? You now have a couple of Paris Hiltons on your hands! Please vote if you haven't already this month...(the shortcut links are directly to the left of this blog). Remember, we have a reminder list for people who want an email reminding them to vote for us at the start of each month.
