IT LIVES

What he didn't say is that the first hour is him apologizing for being so late :snicker:

What a nightmare. We STILL aren't sure the version you all are downloading is without errors. We will all find out together. All night it kept glitching on us. Ben has been working on this for more than 24 hours straight...he's totally fried.

Soon as mine finishes downloading, I will start checking a few key spots for errors.

DB had said something about "who can listen to 3 hour shows?" the other day, and I wanted to promise him that this one wouldn't be 3 hours (knowing, as I did then, that it was 4 hours... )

Well, without reenacting the killer bunny scene from The Holy Grail, it is, in fact, 3 hours, (on its way to) and ALSO 4 hours.

Time to kick back and relax, Dan. Here's my suggestion:

I've spent the past several months reading about the "Dark Ages" / Medieval period. Most of my workouts lately have been spent listening to an audio version of Durant's "Age of Faith" (a DC inspired choice).

Either Dan's been reading my mind or I've been reading his.

:D :D :D This is gonna be good....

Thank you so much, Dan and Ben. I'm downloading now, hating the fact that I have 9 hours of work to get through first.

You should both get some sleep!

Just high fived my wife when I saw this was up. Just have to get through work today then its HH time.

Ben and Dan realise that all your hard work is appreciated, among a plethora of History podcasts yours is head and shoulders above anything available.

Enjoy your rest and I look forward to the controversy the religious angle will cause

Too bad DB's prediction was six days too late.
Some advice though, Henry (Harry) K is a sophisticated troll.

@Dan:

Great episode so far, but in minute 24 you read from a quote that the Suebi eat very little corn...but there was no corn in Europe until the Columbian Exchange.
"No man grows rich by kindness."-Jorah Mormont

"True heroism is you, alone, in a designated workspace. True heroism is minutes, hours, days, year upon year of the quiet, precise, judicious exercise of probity and care, with no one there to see or cheer." The Pale King, by D. F. Wallace.

Corn is a generic term for cereals of all types, but especially wheat.
Wiki's back up, by the way.

Corn just means "grain" like a "grain of salt", hence "corned beef".
