This series adds a tremendous amount of context to the very limited clip of events that are taught and repeated in American schools. The background story of Julius Caesar adds so much depth to events that he is not just a “power-hungry dictator,” but a product of a society that valued and rewarded the ambitious strong-man types. It has quite literally changed my perspective on these events of history.
